This Turkey Alfredo Stromboli, friends — it’s a good one! It’s got the perfect combination of easy, hearty and comforting for those chilly days we all know are ahead for quite some time yet (especially if you’re in Manitoba like we are!). It has so many of my favorite things:

tender, shredded turkey — perfect for holiday leftovers or easy to cook up on a weeknight! rich, creamy homemade Alfredo sauce cheese, cheese and more cheese a golden roll of pizza dough holding it all together for one delicious bite

I always buy an extra turkey early in the fall when they are featuured for the holidays — a small one that I can fit in my slow cooker and make this Crockpot Turkey with Garlic Butter, then I use the carcass to make broth, and soup, and I chop or shred the rest of the meat to freeze for easy meals down the road. I’m not a big meal prepper, but just have some delicious, cooked turkey ready to throw in whatever dinner I’m making for an easy source of protein is a lifesaver through the winter. This Turkey Alfredo Stromboli is one of my new favorite ways to cook it up — and the girls love the leftovers for lunches through the week!

What is stromboli?

Stromboli is essentially one big pizza roll. I make this Turkey Stromboli  with refrigerated pizza dough (we have to give ourselves a break every now and then, but if you want to make your pizza dough from scratch, check out my Quick and Easy Pizza Dough recipe here), fill, roll, and bake!

How to make Stromboli:

Can I use store bought Alfredo sauce?

You can definitely use store bought Alfredo sauce if you need to give yourself a break. I’m all for shortcuts when we need it! I haven’t found a store bought Alfredo sauce that I really like, so I always make it from scratch, but if you like it, go for it!

Don’t have leftover turkey?

Simply buy a couple of turkey thighs, drumsticks or a turkey breast and throw in the slow cooker in the morning (or in the Instant Pot if you’re not as on top of things!) — by dinner prep time you’ll have tender, shredded turkey perfect for using in this stromboli. Canadian Turkey has an awesome chart including the cook times for all different cuts of turkey which is incredibly helpful!
