Today, I’m finally answering a request I’ve received from many of you over the years: can you please write toaster oven recipes? However, since I feel that this was a niche that didn’t serve absolutely everyone, I compiled my 10 best recipes into a downloadable ebook for those interested. Here is the link to purchase. My venture into toaster oven cooking was a natural one. I’ve often felt that if you’re cooking for two, there should be fewer dishes to clean up. The toaster oven helps me make delicious dinners in a fraction of the time, with less dishes to wash at the end. Many of the recipes in this book are sheet pan meals or packet meals, making cleanup a breeze! There are many types of toaster ovens on the market. For this book, I used the KitchenAid Compact Oven. I love this model because it’s simple, yet has many features and functions. It has been on my kitchen counter for over 5 years, and it hasn’t let me down once.
Toaster oven recipes for two
Since toaster ovens are, well, toaster-sized, it’s the perfect vehicle to make dinners for two. Every recipe in this toaster oven cookbook serves just two people. Don’t just think of your toaster oven for toast, think of it as a way to make dinner, too! Also, all of these recipes are so easy! The flavors are comforting, classic, and completely crave-worthy. The first thing I made in my toaster oven was chicken wings, because I knew that the chicken would be close to the heating elements of the oven. The wings were so crispy and juicy–I was immediately in love. The chicken wings recipe in the book is for my family’s favorite flavor combination (lemon pepper and garlic), but it’s adaptable for your favorite flavor, too.
Toaster oven to cook chicken
Speaking of chicken, there are so many ways to enjoy chicken in this book! From Margherita Chicken Breasts, Creamy Chicken Enchiladas, and Shredded Buffalo Chicken salad, go ahead and grab the cheaper bulk bag of chicken breasts at the store. To deal with chicken in bulk when cooking for two: wrap extra chicken breasts in one layer of plastic wrap, one layer of foil, and then store in a freezer-safe bag in the freezer. Remove two from the freezer to the fridge to thaw the night before you want to make dinner for two.
Toaster oven recipes that are easy
These recipes are so easy, and only 1 recipe requires that you sear the pork tenderloin on the stovetop before transferring to the oven. Everything else comes together right in on one sheet pan or in one foil packet. I even have a super romantic date night dinner for two that you can pull off in under an hour!
Toaster oven recipes healthy
Along with salad recipes, the basis for all of the recipes is lean protein–from salmon, frozen shrimp, chicken breast and steak.
Toaster oven cookbook
Pans needed for cooking the recipes in this book: I purchased this set of toaster oven cookware. It includes a 8.5” x 6.5” cake pan, 8.5” x 6.5” Quarter Sheet Pan/ Cookie Sheet, 10.25” x 7” 6-Cup Muffin Pan and a 7.5” x 5.5” Cooling Rack. The 8.5” x 6.5” small cake pan is for cooking enchiladas and foil pack meals. The 8.5” x 6.5” quarter sheet pan/ cookie sheet is used for almost every recipe in the book. The 7.5” x 5.5” small metal rack fits inside the quarter sheet pan to elevate meat to allow for air circulation (for a crisper crust and faster cooking time). The 6-cup muffin pan makes great quiches. So, stop thinking of your toaster oven as simply a method to make great toast, and let’s make great dinners for two together!
