Two people cannot finish an entire bottle of wine. Wait, can I re-phrase that? Two people shouldn’t finish an entire bottle of wine. At least not on a weeknight. We speak from experience. Since it’s summertime, we’ve been hitting the rosé almost nightly. But, I’ve been waking up lately only to find that I forgot to re-cork the wine. Again. Whenever I have a leftover half-bottle of wine, I always use it for mixing drinks. Or cooking. But the other morning, when I spotted yet another open bottle of rosé from the previous night on the counter, my mind immediately went to cool, crisp refreshing lemonade with a splash rosé. If the two most refreshing things about summertime got together in a glass, it would be this rosé lemonade.
I used my favorite non-sparkling French rosé, but you could definitely use a brut rosé. There are some great domestic ones (I love Mumm, Gloria Ferrer, and Handley Cellars). Or, you could use sparkling lemonade. I included a recipe for homemade lemonade for two below, but you can most certainly use one that you like from the store. Cheers to summertime! Friends, I’m off to the lake for a week. I have recipes ready to share with you while I’m gone next week, but I’ll be a bit out of touch if you need help. Sorry! My main goal for next week is to get rid of the weird tan line I have around my belly button from my pregnancy. Apparently I laid out with my belly exposed a little too much, because when my belly button became an innie again post-baby, it left a weird line. Big life problems being solved next week. Lots of this rosé lemonade recipe being made and drank quickly! For a non-alcoholic version, try my mango lemonade.
You can substitute store-bought lemonade.
