I’ve developed quite the coffee shop habit, and if I can say this without sounding judgmental: I’m sure that you have, too! The warm weather just calls for a tall iced coffee, right? Before my fellow iced coffee lovers sing my praises, I feel the need to confess that I drink hot coffee in the winter. I just think you should know that I’m a chai latte in the winter type of person (or a homemade pumpkin spice latte), and an iced mocha person in the summer....
Oh, hi; it’s me again with another taco recipe. I just can’t help myself lately–tacos are such a quick dinner for us when we spend a little too much time by the pool. I keep saying we’ll be home by 5:30 to give myself 30 blessed minutes to make dinner, but I find myself dragging home around 6:30. Then, everyone is hungry and I’m scrambling in the kitchen. It usually goes a little something like this: I toss the chicken in my instant pot, pop Camille in the bath, and my husband starts cooking the tortillas....

If my husband has one flaw, it’s that he doesn’t love olives or other briny things. Mini Apple Pies On a recent trip to Crate & Barrel, hoping to trade all of my money for all the pretty dishes, I stumbled upon two mini pie dishes. They were 6" across, which is the size I use for all of my small pies, and the edges were fluted. Plus, they’re perfectly white. So what any person would do I snatched up two mini pie dishes, skipped to the register, and headed home to peel apples....
Ok, sweet friends, I’m off! We’re off to get married! I will be back in about a month. We’re aiming for a cell phone-free, computer-less, and TV-free honeymoon. Technology has no business on a honeymoon. So, that said, I have a recipe or two pre-scheduled to post, but I won’t be around for any baking trouble-shooting. Just remember: softened butter doesn’t mean melted, baking powder must not be expired, and if you make substitutions for the entire ingredient list, your dessert will most certainly fail....

Making two mason jars of peach iced tea can be your new summertime thing, just like me! Instead of making a giant pitcher of iced tea, I just make two mason jars each morning. I’m afraid that if I made a giant pitcher, I would drink this all day instead of water, plus, I’m trying to watch my caffeine intake! So, two small jars of tea is perfect for my house....
Is it too much to claim that I make the best damn brownies, after I already claimed I also make the best damn small-batch sugar cookies? My brownies are simple cocoa-powder based babes with a touch of flour at the end. I use cocoa powder for absolute intensity of the chocolate, and a small amount of flour at the end for chew. The recipe has plenty of granulated sugar because that’s what makes the crackled surface on top, did you know?...

I’m not entirely sure if it’s too early to start baking with cranberries, but here were are. Since we have a toddler, we have an extensive dried fruit section in our pantry. I’m convinced that with the right combination of dried fruit (dates, cranberries, raisins, and mango) plus ripe in-season fruit, we can keep a kid from wanting candy.
