Boursin Cheese Pasta is one of those dinner recipes that I often find myself making over and over… and over again! My whole family love this cheesy recipe and for good reason. Each bite of pasta is coated generously in cheesy goodness! I’m obsessed with this Boursin pasta recipe (yes, you’ve probably seen a similar recipe on TikTok), because it’s so easy to make in one pot with just 3 ingredients. Oh, and it all comes together in just 20 minutes! There’s a whole lot to love. The flavor palate here is simple, yet so satisfying. Garlic and herbs flavor the Boursin and everything is enhanced beautifully by the cracked black pepper and plenty of parmesan cheese.
Why we love this Boursin Cheese Pasta Recipe:
Quick: What’s better than a 30 minute dinner? A 20 minute dinner! This easy Boursin recipe comes together in no time with minimal effort. One Pot: Having less dishes to clean up when you’re done cooking is always a huge win. There’s nothing better than a one pot dinner recipe! 3 Ingredients: Pasta, parmesan and Boursin is all you need to make this dish. The sprinkle of black pepper is optional (but highly recommended). We love a good budget-friendly recipe!
Boursin Cheese Pasta Ingredients:
Pasta: I used cavatappi pasta in this easy recipe. However, you can really use any shape of noodles you like best or happen to already have on hand — long or short, it doesn’t matter! Boursin Cheese: Garlic and herb Boursin is a classic. It lends a ton of satisfying, yet simple flavor to the dish. Feel free to mix it up with other flavors! Parmesan: If possible, try to only use parmesan that’s freshly grated off the block for the very best flavor and consistency. Black Pepper: This is an optional ingredient but one that I really love!
How to make Boursin Pasta
Take a quick look at how easy this Boursin pasta recipe is! For more detailed step by step instructions, just keep scrolling down to the recipe card at the bottom of the page.
Slice the Boursin into small cubes. Cook the pasta according to package directions and reserve 2 cups of the water before draining. Place the cooked pasta back in the pot.
One the pasta is drained, toss in the Boursin cheese. Stir in the pasta water until you reach the desired consistency. Mix in the parmesan cheese until you achieve a creamy texture.
Variations and Substitutions
Swap the Boursin: If you’re not a big Boursin fan, you can use cream cheese instead. You may want to consider sprinkling in additional seasonings, like garlic powder and dried herbs, or choose a flavored variety. Add some veggies: You could always mix in a leafy green like baby spinach for some added nutrients. Roasted cherry tomatoes are also fabulous. Or, mix in some well drained sun-dried tomatoes for added flavor. Adjust the consistency: For a thick and creamy dish, use less pasta water. For a thinner sauce, mix in more pasta water. I recommend adding just a few splashes at a time until the desired consistency is reached. Seasonings: You can always feel free to sprinkle in some salt, red pepper flakes, garlic powder, onion powder, or anything else that sounds good to you. Fresh basil would also be a nice garnish.
How to store Boursin Cheese Pasta
You can keep any leftovers you may have stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Note that pasta can be quite absorbent, so it may soak up some of the sauce as it sits. Add a splash of broth or water and reheat for 30 seconds at a time in the microwave, stirring each time it stops until warmed all the way through. Take care not to overheat it!
Can I freeze leftover pasta?
Yes! Let it fully cool to room temperature prior to freezing in an airtight container for up to 3 months. Let it defrost in the fridge for a few hours prior to reheating. Keep in mind that pasta, after being frozen and thawed, will no longer be la dente. If you your pasta firmer, I recommend just cooking what you will eat.
Serving suggestions:
Add some protein to your meal with some sliced chicken breast on top! Any of these will work fabulously: Air Fryer Chicken Breast, Instant Pot Chicken Breast, Baked Chicken Breast or Pan Fried Chicken Breast. We also love serving this pasta recipe with Homemade Meatballs or Crockpot Meatloaf. When it comes to side dishes, I like plating pasta dishes like this with veggies like Air Fryer Broccoli or Roasted Green Beans.
